Upon return to Alaska, he assumed command of Headquarters Troop, 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment and trained Soldiers in the challenging environment of interior Alaska. He was later selected to attend the Command and General Staff Officer’s Course at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where he simultaneously earned a MBA from Webster’s University. Upon graduation from CGSOC, then Major Goodman was assigned as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Truman State University in Missouri, where he had the opportunity to train and commission Army Officers. He was subsequently assigned to the 75th Field Artillery Brigade at Fort Sill, where he served as the Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer of 2nd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery (MLRS), which included a 9-month rotation to the Republic of Korea. Most recently, LTC Goodman served as the Brigade Executive Officer for the 75th FA BDE before being assigned as the Professor of Military Science for the Fight’n Blue Hen Army ROTC Battalion.
